The Daihatsu YRV is a mini MPV, manufactured by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu. The YRV was available from 2000, featuring either the EJ-VE-3, a 1.0L 64ps engine, the K3-VE, a l4 1.3L engine making 90ps, or a 1.3L Turbo engine, the l4 K3-VET, boasting 140 ps. The AWD system named 4Trak was only available with the K3-VE engine. An available option the the YRV was an electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission, with paddles.

In 2001, a non turbo, and a sporty turbo model was available. The Turbo model as called the Turbo-R, and featured performance upgrades and 15" BBS wheels.

With gas prices on the rise, Japan has seen the trend of mini's becoming more and more of a major tuning base for car enthusiasts. Both Supercharger and Turbocharger kits have been developed for a variety of minis as well as selections of aero, exhaust, and suspension parts by many major and minor brands in the JDM tuning industry. The Daihatsu YRV has a variety of parts available for it to be a faster, sharper handling city cruiser.
