The Gasket is composed of stainless steel and is the Super Grommet-type which is a combination of the bead and grommet sealing technology. Tomei says they have selected stainless for the material of the gasket, which makes it possible to cool down the cylinder effectively by transferring heat to the cylinder head equally with the high thermal conductivity of stainless. This is what Tomei has to say about Turbo compression and head gaskets; With the increasing combustion pressure of high performance engines in recent years, an enormous burden is placed on the head gasket. Moreover, in order to realize the high precision assembly of the engine, strict measurement of sealing pressure as well as calculation of the proper bolting angle must be done to each reinforced head studs and regular bolts.
