about Demio

The Demio's minivan-like design was not popular with reviewers, but the Demio proved a hit. The original DW was released in 1996, and resembled a tall station wagon. In 2000, Mazda revised the exterior, cabin air filtration and transmission. The 2002 Demio DY / Mazda2 version proved to be a practical, fun to drive upgrade. All Demios come standard with ABS and EBD. A new feature was the e-4WD system, where an electric motor drives the rear wheels, for increased traction.

In Europe, trim levels were S, TS and TS2. The TS and TS2 were renamed Antares and Capella in 2004. The Japanese 1.3 and 1.5 petrol engines were not available abroad, but Ford's 1.25-litre 16v Yamaha engine, and Mazda's 1.4 and 1.6 petrol, plus the 1.6 diesel are offered.

The JDM Aftermarket offers a variety of parts to better the looks of your Demio. Wheels, Suspension Parts, Mufflers, and Aero Parts are all available for purchase, to change your boring looking econobox into a low-riding, street cruiser.
