By hardening the inner rubber of a standard shift lever, the amount of deflection is decreased. At the same time, the lever length was reduced by about 7.5mm, providing a stroke 10% shorter. This changes the rather soft touch of a standard car to a much more precise, fast feeling. At the same time, while the goal is to change to a quicker shift, an overly short shift stroke will result in poor, heavy shifting. Unlike a quick shift, the lever ratio has not been changed, so the transmission synchro is not effected and a moderately faster degree of shifting is possible. Great shifter, easy to install
I got my car with the threads being stripped out on the stock shifter. So I was in the market for a new one and figured to give this a shot. It’s stiffer then stock, love the feel so far not to notchy and about a half inch shorter then stock. I really didn’t want a quick shifter due to the possibility of messing up synchros so the Nismo solid shifter was the perfect option for me. RHDJAPAN by far has the best price plus shipping I could find anywhere online and it shipped in less then a week to the US.

fantastic solid shift
been using a generic quick shift kit which for a long time was to close making it hard to change gear and noisy, fitted this solid shift and much better feel and no noise.....from there anyway:)

Sometimes too quick
Feels more direct than stock shifter, maybe a bit more notchy. Feels more accurate when shifting fast, but can sometimes be too quick and crunch a little.
