about R34 Skyline GT-R

In 1999, the popular GT-R brand made a comeback with the R34 GT-R, providing various upgrades over the standard R34, most notably perhaps was the revised chassis, the the improved ball bearing turbo core, and a Getrag gearbox. Smaller upgrades included the upgrade from cast turbo outlet pipes, to shaped ones and a thermometer probe in V-type models.

The BNR34 is also the last GT-R to be built the RB26DETT engine. Unlike its predecessor, the BCNR33, the BNR34 was instantly embraced by the tuning community and is a common sight to see in the streets of Tokyo. Because it came with the RB26DETT, tuning parts are plentiful and tuning is easy to do making it a popular base for building a Circuit, Top Speed, and/or Drag racing specialist.
