The R35 isn't an incremental upgrade over a normal Skyline car, but a complete different car of its own. The R35 is built specifically for re-writing lap times, and the results did not disappoint, as it won several major championships in 2008, and it is one of the fastest production cars around the famous Nürburgring. It has kept he previous GT-R nickname of Godzilla, the monster from Japan. The R35 can reach a massive top speed of more than 313 km/h stock from the factory, and a 1-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds.

In designing the R35, the designers did not look to the European stylings or classic racing looks, but instead went for a wholly Japanese look, taking its squarish shapes from cradle of modern Japanese design, the Japanese Gundam robots.
