about S14 Silvia

Released in Japan in 1993, this lower and wider Silvia featured a rounder, bulkier design. The S14 had a slightly wider wheelbase, inching out a little more handling. Though the S14 largly failed abroad, it was still successful in Japan. Aero versions, featuring improved ground effect and large rear wing were also offered. The Silvia S14 K was equipped with a SR20DET, with Nissans newly developed VTC and upgraded T28 turbocharger. The Kouki S14 model (sometimes called the CS14 or Shark Eyes S14) added some nice new lights and other exterior upgrades. It also featured a more effective turbocharger. 2000 marked the final year of S14 production.

Like the S13 Silvia and 180SX, the aftermarket world is overflowing with parts for the S14/S15 SR20DET. With the numbers of S13's dwindling, the S14 is now taking its place as #1 tuning base car. They can be seen in various genres of tuning culture, from the Circuit, Drag, Top Speed, and ofcourse, Drift. The preferred S14 is the Kouki model, with its aggressive looks. That is not to say that the Zenki is neglected. A popular trend currently among Zenki S14 Drifters is installing projector lamps into the head lights, for better lighting and the cool look. The tail lights of the Kouki 14 are also commonly installed onto the Zenki S14 because of its better looks. Kouki style crystal tail lights have recently been release by aftermarket, becoming an instant hit among S14 owners.

The S14 SR20 packs more performance potential than its S13 predecessor. The addition of Nissan's own version of Variable Valve Timing, bigger turbocharger, and bigger injectors gives the S14 engine the ability to raise power from 220ps to the 280ps range with a Boost-Up tune from 0.60 bar to 1.00 bar of boost.
