The Sagea is also sometimes called the Skyline Wagon, because the front end of the Stagea was modeled after the R31 skyline. Released in 1996, this wagon came in 3 different versions. WC34 Series 1 (1996 to late 1998), WC34 Series 2 (late 1998 to 2001) and the M35 Series (2001 to 2007). The Series 1 featured 2.0l and 2.5l turbo engine versions (all RB series engines), and 2, or all wheel drive. Series 2 was very similar to the Series 1, featuring minor cosmetic changes and the new NEO more environmentally friendly RB engines. The M35 Series was a break from the previous design, now drawing heavily on the V35 models for design. The whole line stopped production in June 2007, though sales continued after, and it it still a popular choice for used car buyers.

The Stagea's image of being a "family car" car be easily changed with a little bit of work. Sharing many interchangeable parts with the ECR33 and ER34 Skyline (including the RB25 engine), plenty of parts are available to boost your car up into a high speed family wagon. Because of its enormous size, the WGC34 would prove extremely hard to make competitive against lighter, more popular tuning cars like Civics and Silvias. It would however be a great base car to stand out of the crowd in and get the looks when flying past the pitwall or show turn. With the proper parts and tuning, the Stagea is capable to being great fun on track days and on the drift track.
