NISSAN Y31 Y32 Y33 Cima Cedric Gloria
about Y31 Y32 Y33 Cima Cedric Gloria
The Nissan Cima, Cedric and Gloria were sister cars, the two latter being practically twins, and the former a more luxurious series. The Y31 was a 4-door hard top, with no B-Pillar. It came to market in 1988, and featured a 200 or 255 bhp engine. Between the Gloria and Cedric versions, only tail lights differ.
The Y32 Cima incarnation was launched in 1991, after a complete make-over the Cima now showed distinctive Jaguar features. The Cedric / Gloria models were launched the same year, a upgraded and updated version of the Y31, with the gloria being the sportier of the two.
In 1996 the Y33 version was brought to market. The was the first Cima to be sold over seas, under the name Infiniti Q45. The styling was again updated, this time showing Benz-like features. The Gloria Cedric version was launched in 1995, with a new VQ engine, and updated design.
The Cima Cedric and Gloria have a strong following in the VIP tuning world. Major Japanese VIP tuning magazines such as VIP Style hardly print out a issue without a awesome looking VIP Y31, Y32, or Y33 printed in its pages. Rather than tuning for speed or handling like traditional tuning cars, VIP tuning is aimed completely for style. The Y31, Y32, and Y33 have a vast array of parts available for owners to get their Nissans rolling as close to the ground as possible through suspension and aero parts means. Interior tuning is also a major part of a VIP tuned ride. Seat covers, Dashboard Table and many other pieces are available to add luxury to the Cima/Cedric/Gloria.
