about Z33 Fairlady Z V35 Skyline VQ35DE

In June 2001 Nissan launched their 11th generation Skyline, the V35. It became the first skyline to be designed with overseas export in mind. Sold in the US under the name Infinity G35, the V35 marked a break with many traditional Skyline features. Gone was the turbo, the straight 6 engine, and there was no GT-R version released. This streamlining made for a more accessible Skyline, landing it much praise from the media. It was however largely ignored by the tuning community, weighting 100g more than the 350z, it was more of a luxury car than a real racer.

Unlike it's sister car, the Z33 Fairlady Z, the V35 has strayed from its sporty roots and has been reborn into becoming a luxury cruiser. Its luxurious styling has given the V35 more of a Spo-Com, LUX/DUB tuner following. Don't be fooled however, the V35's looks have become less appealing to the traditional tuner, not its performance capabilities. Like the Z33, the V35 packs the same VQ35DE underneath the hood, meaning it has a selection Supercharger and Turbocharger kits available to easily increase power beyond its stock 280ps rating.

Fairlady Z33

The Nissan 350Z, also know as the Fairlady Z33 was a 2-seater sports car produced by Nissan. It first came to market in 2002, a direct descendent of the popular Z31, the Z32 it remained similar in shape, but featured a redesigned front end. The car was equipped with the VQ35DE engine, a 3.5L, 287 bhp monster.

The Z33 was, and still is widely used in all areas of racing. From endurance races, to drift and even drag-racing, this car was a jack of all trades. Several versions of the 350Z were released, including a roadster with a soft top, anniversary models, and power upgraded models. A low design, with the classic long hood that are synonymous with the Fairlady Z, were also present in this model. The design also featured aluminum accents inside and out, high waistline, bulging fenders and the glove box noticeably missing.

-Released on August 20, 2002, the 350Z coupé was available in the U.S. in 5 trim packages: '350Z' (Base), 'Enthusiast', 'Performance', 'Touring', and 'Track' editions. In Europe only the 'Track' trim was available, although it was badged and marketed as '350Z'.

Immediately embraced by the tuning community, the Z33 has a continually growing plethora of parts available. NA Tune, Turbocharge, or Supercharge, its all possible. Want to replace your bumpers and add some Side Steps? Plenty of brands to choose from. Tuned Z33's have hit various tracks around Japan, including Tsukuba and Fuji Speedway. The 1000ps Option Stream Z has gone into the USA to compete in the Silver State Classic Challenge, Z33's are competing or have competed in both Japan's D1 Grand Prix and the USA's Formula Drift. Despite the fact that there is no real cheap or easy way of getting massive amounts of power out of it because of the NA power plant, the Z33 continues to gain in popularity and will quite possibly be a fairly common tuning base in the same vein as the Nissan Silvia/180SX and Skylines in the near future.
