Removing your stock catalytic converter is not only illegal in most places but it is bad for the environment. Most shops will not remove your catalytic and to get caught without one will get you a hefty fine.
This puts you in a dilemma because running a turbine requires a higher flow exhaust in order to keep back pressure low. If the exhaust back pressure is too great under boost your car will run poorly. You will damage the turbo bearings, seals or cause cracks in the exhaust housing if you boost above stock levels without a proper exhaust setup.
The Sard piece's diameter is enlarged to allow your engine to exhale the hot exhaust gases more efficiently, increasing horsepower at almost any RPM. This is a necessary upgrade if you plan on extracting power easily from your car while keeping exhaust gases clean.
