HKS Japan found its beginning in 1973 around the farms of MT. Fuji with the three names Hasegawa, Kitagawa, and Sigma. HKS has very strong ties to Yamaha and this is where HKS got its start and engineering experience from. HKS is the father of the JDM turbo kit after realizing the world's first carb turbo kit for the L20 Nissan engine. HKS is the most respected large tuning company around and the bubble economy of Japan marked the beginning of the race boom that helped HKS become the dominant company it is now.
