The Toyota Bb was a Toyota 3, or 5 door compact station wagon based on the Vitz. Available engines were 1.3 L and 1.5 L models. The 2nd gen. bB is a re-branded Daihatsu Materia. This model featured a 109 hp 1.5L (Z Model) 3SZ-VE VVT-i engine or 92 hp 1.3L (S Model) K3-VE VVT-i engine.

The bB was released in the american market under the Scion brand as the xB, while the 2nd gen. xB was designed specifically for North American buyers. A 3rd gen. bB has been released, similarly based on the Materia, but features interior and exterior revisions, as well as side-curtain airbags.

Like the Vitz, the bB proved to be a major hit in the aftermarket industry. The bB was designed with tuner modification in mind, and its design has worked in its favor. Customization parts are plentiful, making the bB an easy to tune car. Great looking tuned examples are not only found in Japan, but in the US as well, where the bB was released under Toyota's youth oriented brand, Scion as the xB.
