about EP71 Starlet

The Toyota Starlet was introduced in 1973, continuing all the way to 1999. The Starlet was a very popular model, known for its dependability. The 70 starlets were released in 1984, and it was the first Starlet with front-wheel drive. It was available in 3 or 5 door hatchback.

The engine was a 12 valve 1E (2E). It was made available in Standard, DX, Soleil, XL, XL Lisse, SE, Si, Si Limited, Ri, Turbo R, and Turbo S trim. The Ri and Turbo R were the lightweight models designed for motor sports. The 1987 Kouki upgrade featured a new nose, tail lights, bigger bumpers, and new interior.

As stated earlier, the 70 Starlet is the first of the FF Starlets. Its predecessor, the KP60/KP61 were highly popular among car enthusiasts and was a commonly seen car in the amateur and professional race circuit. The 70 Starlet followed the KP Starlet's legacy to become a favorite in not only circuit races. It was also a popular choice for Gymkhana and Dirt Trial competitions.
