The specifications of the GP-6RC are extremely close to its' predecessor, the GP-5RC F1 racing helmet. Using the design of the GP-5RC before it, the GP-6RC is made using Racing Carbon. (which is also hinted in the helmet's name) Currently in use by many drivers in the Formula class of F-1 racing competition, the GP-6RC meets the FIA's 8860-2004 approval standard. This means the GP-6RC is eligible for use in the Formula One, GP2, GP2 Asia, F3 Euro Series, F3 UK, FIA F2, and WTCC
The GP-6RC has been designed with a wider opening for ease of putting on/taking off. The Visor opening system has been designed for easier opening and secure locking as recommended by the Indy Racing League and required by Snell SA2010. The interior of the helmet consists of a series of spongy cushions to keep you comfortable while wearing the helmet. Emergency release tap cheek pads also come included for easy helmet removal in-case of emergency. Various ventilator ducts are located throughout the helmet to give you a steady supply of fresh air and to cycle out the stale air within the helmet. The visor included will keep your eyes protected from the elements while also giving you a perfectly sized window to view your surroundings from. The quality is typically HKS perfect.The price-performance ratio is very good and there is no other option on the market where you can increase the spring preload. It would be nice if HKS would bring another 40mm version onto the market with a smaller housing. Because it's not that easy to accommodate such a large wastgate in the engine compartment.
