Toda Racing Reinforced Chain Tensioner - S2000 AP1 AP2

The Heavy Duty Chain Tensioner is capable to taking the extra strain of extreme driving and aftermarket Cams. Toda has fixed the weak points of the Oil Pressure Auto Tensioner, preventing damage to valve timing and parts around the valve. Great for engines using a camshaft timing chain tensioner that is operated via oil pressure with an internal ratchet system which keeps the correct chain tension, and correct valve timing. This system is accurate for factory engines, but when the valvetrain is subjected to high load situation, as a result of employing high lift camshafts, high rpm operation, rapid down shifting, the standard timing chain tensioner can move. If this movement occurs, engine damage may result due to piston to valve contact or valve to valve contact. Due to engine's VTC feature, it is very important to control valve timing (50 degrees movement). Toda Racing has developed the timing chain tensioner that allows movement only to what is required. This product was originally designed for the Toda N+ endurance racing engines.
