The TOMEI Solid Pivot Test Shim & Test Guide Set SR20DE(T) is designed specifically for the SR20DE(T) engines when upgrading to the `solid type` camshafts by the 'Engine Specialists', Tomei. Included in the Tomei Test Shim & Test Guide Set is 4 sets of shims and guides for the intake side and 4 sets for the exhaust side. The provided shims measure 2.7mm and 2.8mm.

In order to make cam clearance maintenance-free and quieter operation sound, the hydraulic lash adjuster was adopted for the SR20 engine. However when aiming at higher RPM ranges and for higher horsepower output from engine modifications, it is important to improve the reliability of head system parts and to make valve drive train set correctly for the suited cam profile. So it is necessary to eliminate the use of the hydraulic lash adjusters. Tomei have adopted the solid pivot system to enable adequate cam clearance adjustments while keeping total height of pivot of each cylinder fixed. Therefore it is possible to build a more precise head system in a shorter time compare to the other conventional methods. Improvements in the reliability and lower pricing were made possible at the same time by having reduced the number of parts required.

OEM replacement Review by Stefan
Most caps are 1.3 or 1.1 bar, but why should I want to keep more pressure in my cooling system? Maybe for racing applications with an upgraded engine. So I'm happy that RE Amemiya produces this one and for the filler neck is another one available, too. The spring looks the same as OEM and the sticker on top is very nice. It doesn't come with as many scratches as on the product picture.

If you compare it against the HKS hand towel (PN: 51007-AK227) the quality is less good. The material density is thinner and it does not take the water as good as the hand towel. However it looks awesome and I still like to use it.

I use them in the bathroom and as show element on car events. They have the right size as hand towel and have a high density material, which takes all water away. They quality is really good and can be compared with a usual high price towel at home, but with a really awesome look!
