This is a replacement for the fixed factory headlight leveler. Adjustable length allows for a mechanical override to set the trajectory of the headlamps as desired. Newer model cars today come equipped with headlight level adjusting systems which automatically adjust the position of the headlights based on the position of the car. With the inclusion of this system, the headlights of a car will come out of position when the car is lowered, pointing towards the street rather than straight ahead when the system senses the rear of the car being lower than standard height.
